There is something about a September wedding that feels effortlessly romantic, the soft shift into autumn, the gentle warmth in the air, and the richness of seasonal colour. Jacqueline and Richard embraced all of this and more for their beautiful day at Stanlake Park, choosing a vibrant joyful palette inspired by the bride’s favourite flower, the dahlia.

A Love Letter to Dahlias

Jacqueline dreamed of a day filled with colour, movement, and the playful character of dahlias, so I sourced a gorgeous selection of varieties from a number of wonderful British growers. Each dahlia brought its own personality, from velvety deep tones to bright sun-kissed petals, all blending perfectly with English zinnia, phlox, and delicate cosmos. Together they created an uplifting tapestry of colour that felt full of life and completely unique to the couple.

A Colourful Ceremony

The ceremony flowers were designed to feel natural and up-lifting. A simple flower arch framed their vows, full of rich late-summer colour, while meadow-style arrangements lined the aisle to create a soft garden-like feel. Richard wore a beautifully detailed pocket meadow, and Jacqueline carried a gorgeous bouquet finished with hand-dyed silk ribbon that moved beautifully as she walked.

A Thoughtful and Personal Reception

After the ceremony, all the floral pieces were moved into the reception space so the couple could enjoy them throughout the day. On the tables, we added relaxed vases of flowers arranged in sweetie jars, bringing more colour and a touch of playfulness to the room.

One of the loveliest details of the day was Jacqueline’s handmade table numbers. She had lovingly cross-stitched each one onto free-standing hoops, creating something personal, whimsical, and truly special.

A Day Full of Heart and Colour

Jacqueline and Richard’s wedding was a vibrant celebration of personality, craft, and seasonal beauty. It was a joy to bring their floral vision to life, weaving together their favourite flowers, their love for colour, and the gentle romance of September. Days like theirs are a reminder of how meaningful wedding flowers can be, especially when chosen with such heart.
