About Nicola Hosier Floral Design

Hello

I’m Nicola, Wedding Florist and Founder of Nicola Hosier Floral Design.

Working from my studio on a beautiful farm in Wooburn Manor, High Wycombe, I create wild and whimsical wedding flowers for couples throughout Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. My floral designs have filled some of the most beautiful wedding venues in the South East including Lillibrooke Manor, Stanlake Park, Hedsor House, Notley Tythe Barn, Notley Abbey, Rackleys, Missenden Abbey and Cliveden.

My Style & Ethos

Combining seasonal flowers and foliage in unexpected ways, my style has a joyful, whimsical feel. Think pops of colour, masses of texture, and designs that dance with movement. Scent is equally important. Whether it’s the smell of sweet peas, a garden rose, or a peony in full bloom, my work is designed to delight the senses and transform your venue.

There’s nothing formulaic about my approach, and I’m rarely influenced by the latest trends. I’m much more interested in the things you’re drawn to. The flowers you love, your favourite colours, and the scents that bring back happy memories. I put my heart and soul into my work, and I always set out to create something extraordinary. Every stem, every detail of every design is intentional, unique, and bespoke to you.

Sustainability is also important to me. The beauty of my work owes so much to nature, I could never risk harming the environment through my creative process. For this reason, my designs are completely foam free. Instead, I use moss and chicken wire to create eco-friendly floral mechanics that can be rehydrated and reused after each event. All my packaging is recyclable, and to limit waste I encourage repurposing and restyling designs between spaces as much as possible.

My Story

I’ve always been creative. My love of art originally led me to fashion college where I learned the principles of colour theory and design. Having developed a passion for creating beautiful things, I went on to complete a two-year National Diploma in Floristry.

I fell for flowers in a big way and spent a further two years working at a West London flower shop before deciding to take the leap and start my own business. Providing the best possible service for my couples is important to me, so I regularly update my skills by attending workshops and courses.

I feel incredibly lucky to spend my days surrounded by flowers. I love ordering new varieties, experimenting with colour and creating designs that make a statement. Wedding bouquets are one of my favourite things to design. I spend a lot of time putting them together, checking each stage of the process in a mirror to ensure your bouquet looks perfect from every angle.

I also enjoy creating large floral installations. Whether I’m transforming a sweeping staircase or filling your ceremony with flowers, I never tire of designing something unique for a specific space. Combining colour, texture and scent, flowers can add so much to the atmosphere of your wedding.

Behind the

Bouquets

Alongside running a small business, I’m a mother to two little boys. Most of my free time is spent with them and my husband, but whenever I get the chance, I love cosying up with a good book or escaping for a weekend away with three of my best friends.

My favourite flowers are garden roses, peonies and ranunculus – all the big frilly ones! I wouldn’t describe myself as a ‘girly girl’, but my favourite colour is pink. My other obsession is food, so yes, of course I want to hear what you’ll be serving at your wedding breakfast!
