Sinead & Rob are one of those enviable couples that are just majorly cool and alternative. They came to visit me early in the year to discuss their wedding at Wasing Park, within the beautiful walled garden and I just knew it was one of those events that I DEFINITELY wanted to get involved in.
The theme was rustic meets Indian (Sinead comes from a mixed Indian/English heritage, and is absolutely stunning by the way!), with neutral peachy/grey colours mixed with rich berry tones, plus a smattering of metallics. I was very excited by this colour scheme, it’s every florists dream to decorate a wedding with a theme that is out of the norm.
The venue they chose was the Wasing Walled Garden in Aldermaston, with an outdoors ceremony and a marquee (thank heavens the weather held up!).
Sinead & Rob collected a total of 106 mixed sized metallic tins for me to fill with flowers! I hate to think how many baked beans and tinned tomatoes they had to eat to gather all those! The tins were painted bronze and gold with the odd tin kept it’s natural silver colour. These tins were lined along their wedding breakfast tables, which were rustic trestle tables arranged in the shape of a large ‘E’. The marquee ceiling was strung with festoon style lights, giving the perfect rustic feel.
The couples ceremony took place within a beautiful old Folly which was decorated with a pair or large hanging displays, complete with hanging green Amaranthus. Thousands of pink Rose petals were laid down the whole aisle and at the couple’s feet by Sinead’s family, which really added the WOW factor.
Sinead didn’t want a conventional bouquet for her bridesmaids, and so opted for fresh flower necklaces, I made these using a variety of foliages, a large Succulent and fresh flowers. I thought the necklaces looked amazing on the girls, and completely unexpected.
For her own bouquet, Sinead wanted a trailing hand-tied bouquet in rich berry shades and neutrals. Her dress, and whole outfit for that matter was absolutely stunning. She wore a white paisley and floral lace dress with a gold sequin underlay (Images below!). To finish it off Sinead wore dazzling Indian jewellery, and a tikka headpiece with her hair in braids…love, love, love!
The devil was in the detail with this wedding, and I absolutely loved every minute with working with this couple. The images below were taken by the very talented duo Vicki and Greg, you’ll find their website here.
